It's A Girl!

Yes it's true! We're a family of 6. I'm really eating my words with this one aren't I? Jason and the kids just wouldn't let up on me and in a moment of weakness I gave in. Jason has been begging me and begging me for about a year now. I'm still not sure if I'm ready for this or not. I really don't need someone else to feed and clean up after. I guess it's a little late for second thoughts though. Britannia wanted to name her Sparkles and Mishayla wanted to name her flower. Together they decided on Flower Sparkles. The kids are so excited. They really love her so much already. They fight over who is going to feed her and who is going to hold her. This amazing because they were deathly afraid of anything that moved before this. This is the main reason Jason wanted to get one. It worked and sorry for me the kids are in love with her so it looks like she's sticking around. After two days I'm really having second thoughts. She is potty training herself really well already. When she's full grown she should weigh about 4 lbs. Well here she is.. our 8 week old Chihuahua Flower Sparkles!

A little update- I am the meanest mom ever! Our poor dog didn't even last a week and a half before we sold her. I tried to like her, but I just don't like dogs. My kids liked her, but they were scared of her and we just had to lock her in the bathroom all the time. My kids miss her, but they seem to be getting over it.

Off To School

Mishayla had her first day of school this week! We were invited to join a little joy school group, which we are very excited about. Mishayla woke up and put on her back pack first thing. She thought she was going to school with Britannia. I told her she would be going to school a little while after Britannia and that she had to get dressed first. She was so excited she went up stairs and picked out her clothes all by herself. She is growing up so fast. She had so much fun she talked about it all day. They made little snowmen and talked about shapes. It was first time she got to show Britannia and Daddy what she did at school. Mishayla woke up the next morning and put her backpack on first thing again. You can imagine her disappointment when I told her she only had it 1 day a week. I felt so bad for her. I am really excited to teach her and the other kids. I love teaching and making up lesson plans (in small doses). It will be so much fun to spend time with her and see her interact with the other kids. She is such a joy!

More Family Visits

A day and a half after we got home from my mom and dad's we took a 15 hour drive to Jason's brother and sister in laws house. The kids were very good considering the amount of time they spent in the van. As you can see we just kept passing David food to keep him happy. We had a great time with with Ryan and Kobi and their two cute kids. The dad's took the kids ice skating, thanks again guys. Jason did a great job with the kids. It was kind of expesive so David and Mishayla shared skates and we decided that I would sit it out. I felt really bad...yeah right! We also took the kids to a fun little kiddie place similar to Chuckie Cheese. They loved it! They had a huge tunnel area, rides and arcades. Thanks again Ryan and Kobi for letting us stay with you and showing us a good time.

Christmas 2008

We had such a wonderful Christmas. Santa (and Grandpa & Grandma) were very good to us. The kids stayed in their pj's and had raggedy hair all day long. The girls loved their Baby Annabell dolls and David loved the candy. He was covered in it all day long! It's a good thing Holiday's have a little space in between them. My girls really seemed to understand the true meaning of Christmas a little more this year despite all of the fun gifts. We had a Little People nativity set out at our house and the kids played with it non-stop. They were so concerned about baby Jesus. They had some of their little friends babysit the nativity set for us while we were gone. They talked about how nice it was to know that they would take good care of it while we were gone. Shayla spent most of her time playing with my mom's nativity sets. They weren't as durable as ours so I hope they survived her many hours of play. I am so grateful for this amazing season of giving that helps us remember the greatest gift of all!

Christmas Eve

My dad's side of the family always has a big Chirstmas Eve party. It is my favorite thing aobut Christmas. There is lots of yummy food, we play the white elephant gift game, and of course the kids put on the Christmas play for us. It was so much fun. At the end of the white elephant game my Grandpa got up and started auctioning off the gifts so all the kids could trade what they got for somethin they wanted. It kept going and going we we're all rolling with laughter. Afterwards we went back to my mom and dad's where we all got our new Christmas pj's. The kids wrote their thank you letters to Santa and left them with his milk and cookies. Oh yes, they left plenty of carrots for the reindeer!

Going Home

We were able to go to my parents house for Christmas this year. It was a very nice trip. When we flew in my dad took us to the State Capital to see his new office. The kids a ball running free in that huge building. We also went to this light show that had anything you could think of designed out of Cheistmas lights. The kids had so much fun with their grandparents and cousin's. We met Jason's family and went to lunch with them and let the kids play together in the snow. They had so much fun spending time together. At my parent's house they played with their cousin's and made sugar cookies for Santa. They also got to go see my parent's new house that they have not yet moved into. My dad also gave David a haircut. We really had a great time!

Disney On Ice

We surprised the kids with an early Christmas present by taking them to Disney On Ice. They loved it. We were nervous about taking David, but his eyes were glued to the stage the entire time. It was such a wonderful night together. The girls both agreed that Tinkerbell was the best part!

Another Visit From The Tooth Fairy

Britannia lost her third tooth on December 16. They have all been from the bottom. A few days later we discovered the reason for this. She grew in her first permanent tooth and it needed lots of space.

No, that was not left for Britannia! It was left for me, I had my wisdom

teeth pulled the same day.
Britannia was nervous for me because the dentist kept my teeth, so she drew some teeth for me to leave under my pillow. I should have thought of this when I was a kid. It seems the tooth fairy likes pictures better than the real thing.

Not a great picture! Poor girl, she woke up so early to see what the tooth left. Her eyes weren't ready for the flash of the camera.

Build-A-Bear

We were out doing a little shopping and realized that we had some gift cards to Build-A-Bear so we let girls each choose one. Poor David slept through it all. Britannia chose a bunny and named her sparkles. Mishayla chose a little pink and white bear and named her Callie which is what she names...well everything she plays with.
