Grandma Waite Comes For a Visit

To say the kids were excited for Grandma to come visit would be a huge understatement. They asked everyday for a week when she would be here. We did some very fun things while she was here. We went to Lake farm parks to see the animals where Britannia, David, and grandma all milked a cow. She made us dinner in a pumpkin one night for dinner and we also painted pumpkins while she was here. She took the kids for walks and read them bedtime stories. They played a "boo game" at night that the kids just loved. She also really helped me out around the house which I really appreciated. We are so grateful for the time she was able to come spend with us.

Prepare!

This is a picture of our kids playing play-doh by candle light. I think someone is trying to give us subtle hints to make sure we are emergency prepared. In a months time we lost power for several hours and had our water shut off for a day. I learned we may need to purchase a few more candles flashlights and to make sure we stay stocked up on batteries. We also learned the tank of our toilet takes over 4 gallons of water to fill it. We realized how quickly our meager water supply could be gone. Last winter our furnace went out at 11:00 pm by morning our house was 40 degrees. We bought a few electric heaters after that little incident. Just some firsthand experiences to strengthen our testimonies on being prepared, we never know what could happen, lucky for us none of these things were long term and we were able to survive them alright.

Pickin' Apples

The kids had a day off of school so good friend of mine and I took our kids to the apple farms to pick our own apples. We had a pick nick lunch while we were there and bought some yummy treats from the bakery to bring home. We all had a great time!
