Night Of Lights

We took the kids to Legacy Village last night for the Night of Lights. It was very crowded but lots of fun. They lit the big tree, had fireworks, a parade, and visits with Santa Clause. Mishayla was so bundled up she couldn't move. Even when we ate dinner she would not take off any of her warm clothes. She looked so uncomfortable in her big coat, gloves, hat and mittens, but she seemed to be alright.
David cried most of the night, this is a little pause to watch the fireworks.
Britannia had the best seat in the house

On the way home Jason told the kids that Santa knew David's name and asked if he knew there's Britannia reply was, "No, the elves whispered it to him." Can't get anything past her!
David gladly accepting his candy cane!
Mishayla was the only one that wasn't sure about Santa this year.
She preferred the Giant Teddy Bear outside the chocolate store! Hmm, candy cane or chocolate, I'm with her.

Decorating the Tree

So last Sunday I was in the basement and Britannia came down and said,"Dad said you could start bringing up the Christmas decorations." WHAT? Jason is so against decorating before Thanksgiving that I really didn't believe her. I came up stairs and asked Jason about if he really wanted to decorate for Christmas already. He said, "Maybe I'll get in the Christmas spirit this year if we let the kids put it up and they get excited about. You always say I don't have the Christmas spirit." So true! So we are all decorated. The kids put all the ornaments by themselves. (so don't judge me by the holes in my tree) They have loved it the keep moving the ornaments around and playing with them. Our tree is a modge podge of ornaments. Both Jason and I received an ornament every year growing up and we have continued this tradition with our kids. They love to figure out which ornaments belong to which person.
They also love to play with our nativity sets. We have three and two of them are toys that they can play with. They keep saying, "We are so excited for Christmas so we can celebrate Jesus's birthday!" David is holding a baby Jesus in his hand even he keeps saying, "baby, baby!" I love that they're as excited about the birth of Christ as they are about Santa coming. At least for the time being.

Mishayla's Dance Performance

Sweet Mishayla! She isn't really the type that likes to leave the house to do anything. This is the second dance class that we've tried and I'm just coming to the conclussion that this just may not be her thing. She does pretty well and she was excited to get up on the stage and dance, but she just doesn't ever want to go to dance. After her show she said, "I don't ever want to take dance again." She has preschool and dance in the same day and she dreads it every week. Needless to say I think she needs a little break from dance for a while.

October!

The girls had so much fun playing in our grand leaf pile that they helped me rake!
Britannia
Mishayla I love the fall leaves here!
I can't keep David out of my kitchen sink! He just hangs on the cabinet and plays in the water all day long. It use to be the bathroom sink which wasn't as bad because I could close the door, but I can't keep out of this one. I'm going to go crazy if he doesn't grow out of this stage soon!
I got to help with Britannia's halloween class party again this year. I'm so glad that I get to be a stay at home mom and participate in these activities. Britannia at the school's Halloween parade.

The kids were so excited about their cosutmes this year. They helped me pick out the fabrics and design them. I was glad David wore his costume because he never would try it on for me while I was making it. I wish we could have got a little more use out of them, but being sick put a little cramp in our Halloween parties.

Jason was in Kansas for the entire month of October and sent me these beautiful roses after I had a tearful night on the phone with him. Between Grandma visits the girls both got H1N1 and were sick for two weeks. While on the phone to Jason, Britannia jumped off the footboard of my bed and cut her head on my ceiling fan. I don't know how we made it through the month without going to the ER, but I feel more than blessed that we did.
Grandma bought the kids a fish tank and fish while she was here and the kids are in love. The first batch of fish died after a few days but the new group seem to be doing well (cross your fingers for us). On the plus side our little man of few words learned a new word from the experience "died".
My mom came and stayed with me for a week and half at the end of the month to help with the kids. I appreciated it so much! I felt bad that we weren't able to do very much with the sick kids. It was just fun having her here though the kids loved that she got to spend Halloween with them. They always look forward to her visits and talk about them for weeks prior and after the visit.
