My Sweet Shayla is 5!

Mishayla in front of her new doll house first thing in the morning on her birthday!
She was saying, "I got everything I wanted!" The morning of her birthday after opening her gifts from family that had come in the mail. Thanks everyone!

Classic!
Mishayla ordered a yellow dollhouse and her daddy delivered! He spent every spare moment working on this doll house. She was thrilled! Barbie (along with everyone and their dog) wasted no time moving in.
She also delivered a pink, yellow, orange, white cake that she could decorate with Ponies by herself. Pony pictures are below.

Mishayla had a great party with all of her friends. It was a Princess/Pony theme. They decorated stick ponies and raced them. Her little friends were very cute and gave her lots of nice gifts that she has played with non-stop. It was a great party and she only cried when it was time to blow out candles, this was a great improvement over last year! She likes the idea of Birthday party, but I think they become too overwhelming for her.

At five Mishayla is very sweet and fun to be around. She still carries around purses loaded with all kinds of treasures. Mishayla is a collector and reminds me alot of my Grandma Hinkins that way. She really loves little, tiny things. She is such a funny little girl and we all enjoy her little personality. Mishayla does have a tender little heart and becomes upset easily at times and yet goes with the flow most of the time. She can be quiet and shy around other people, but really comes alive when she is comfortable. I sure love my little sweetie pie!

The other day I had the kids in the store and Mishayla was sitting there watching as the cashier rang up our things and the lady looked at her and said, "Hey there!" Being sweet, shy little Shayla she did not respond. The lady responds "What's wrong with her, she don't talk?" I explain that she is quiet and shy. The lady looks at Shayla and says, "You a bad girl?" I gave the lady a look like excuse me! You a bad girl or a good girl?" I say, "She is a very good girl, she is a sweet, sweet girl." It drives me crazy when strangers talk to my kids that way. Only in Cleveland!

A Glimpse into our Home!

The fun thing about having 5 photographers in the house is that you never know what's going to come up on the screen when you load your pictures onto the camera.
You also never know what their going to say next. Here are a few recent conversations.
Me: "Daddy needs to go to work and make some money."
David: "No, I want Daddy to go to work and make some snow so Santa Clause will come!"
Mishayla: "I love pink!"
Britannia: "Mishayla, pink is passe that's French for over!"
Mishayla: "I know it's passe, but I still like it."
Britannia: "Pink is for babies and little girls."
Mishayla: "Whateva, I know I just don't want to hear it!"

Palmyra Trip

We went on a Temple trip to Palmyra with our ward a couple weekends ago. We drove up Friday night and stayed in a hotel. Saturday morning we watched each others kids at the church so we could attend the temple. I really enjoyed the temple, it was very beautiful. We then went to the Sacred Grove for a spiritual message after a picnic lunch at the church. It was a great trip and I'm so thankful for those who put so much time into planning it. Even though my kids were less than reverent and yelled and ran through the Sacred Grove. I think they saw it more as a party with their friends than as a spiritual trip.

On the way home we stopped at McDonald's to get the kids something to eat. After ordering at the window Jason pulled forward into a parking lot to pass out the food. He then had to run back into McDonald's to get some straws. While he was in the restaurant I got out to put Kash into his car seat. I had to go around the car since he sits on the driver side. As I was walking around I heard a hissing sound. Then I realized that it was pretty close. So I looked down at our tire and discovered a nail in the backside of our tire. Lovely, right! Some guy drives by seeing me with a baby on my hip and inspecting my tire and asks if I need help. To which I reply, "I'm fine, my husband is just inside and will be out in a minute." He pulls up next to us and says he'll wait there just in case. Jason walks out at this time and I tell him that we have a nail in our tire. The guy gets out of his truck and together they inspect it. Turns out the guy is a roadside mechanic and has all the tools to fix it in his truck. As he goes to work he discovers several nails and two thumbtacks stuck to some plastic. I ask if this is common and he said that we probably ran over a bag of construction garbage. Anyway he fixed it in like 10 minutes and we were on our way. We were thankful that this man had been put in our path this day in McDonald's parking lot!

Kash is 5 Months

I can't believe how fast time goes by. Each baby seems to grow up faster and faster. I am loving this spoiled little baby to pieces. He is the happiest little guy in the world when he is being held or has lots of attention. However, watch out when he doesn't, because the boy sure knows how to scream! This doesn't make me spoil him any less though. Experience has shown me that he won't want me to hold him forever!

Girls Will Be Girls...

Check out this beautiful "hair bouquet" shall we call it. The girls and I really enjoy playing hair salon, but Britannia set a new standard with this work of art!

First Day of School Photo's

Britannia's first day of second grade!

Standing in line with her class, waiting to go in. She was as excited as she looks. She had a rough go the first few days after learning that her best friend moved 2 days prior to school starting to be in a better school district.
Mishayla's first day of Miss. Mindy's pre-school class.

Mishayla's first day of "Mommy's Pre-school"

A little look at my preschool. For those of you who may not know, I started my own pre-school in our basement. I've always wanted to start my own and it seemed like a good time since I now have 2 preschool aged children. I'm so excited about this it has been so much fun! I have such a cute little class. I've really enjoyed teaching David and Mishayla as well as the other students. I love getting to know all of them and their cute little personalities better. I forgot how much fun it was to write and teach pre-school lesson plans.
