BritanniaWe went on a Temple trip to Palmyra with our ward a couple weekends ago. We drove up Friday night and stayed in a hotel. Saturday morning we watched each others kids at the church so we could attend the temple. I really enjoyed the temple, it was very beautiful. We then went to the Sacred Grove for a spiritual message after a picnic lunch at the church. It was a great trip and I'm so thankful for those who put so much time into planning it. Even though my kids were less than reverent and yelled and ran through the Sacred Grove. I think they saw it more as a party with their friends than as a spiritual trip.
On the way home we stopped at McDonald's to get the kids something to eat. After ordering at the window Jason pulled forward into a parking lot to pass out the food. He then had to run back into McDonald's to get some straws. While he was in the restaurant I got out to put Kash into his car seat. I had to go around the car since he sits on the driver side. As I was walking around I heard a hissing sound. Then I realized that it was pretty close. So I looked down at our tire and discovered a nail in the backside of our tire. Lovely, right! Some guy drives by seeing me with a baby on my hip and inspecting my tire and asks if I need help. To which I reply, "I'm fine, my husband is just inside and will be out in a minute." He pulls up next to us and says he'll wait there just in case. Jason walks out at this time and I tell him that we have a nail in our tire. The guy gets out of his truck and together they inspect it. Turns out the guy is a roadside mechanic and has all the tools to fix it in his truck. As he goes to work he discovers several nails and two thumbtacks stuck to some plastic. I ask if this is common and he said that we probably ran over a bag of construction garbage. Anyway he fixed it in like 10 minutes and we were on our way. We were thankful that this man had been put in our path this day in McDonald's parking lot!

I love that the ward did a temple trip to Palmyra, what an awesome idea! I love that you guys went on the trip with four kids and I love that a nice mechanic was sent to help you. I'm glad it all worked out so well, it sounds so fun.
